Disadvantaged People

SEEDA

Project part-financed by the EU
Background to the project “Social on Business”
The Social on Business Project was conceived by the four project partners in September 2005. The four principal partners led by the Spanish partner are: -

  • FUNDACIÓN RED ANDALUCÍA EMPRENDE - Andalucia Spain

  • FORM.ART. SOC. CONS.ARL. - Emilia Romagna Italy

  • Enham - South East England UK

  • MARR - Malopolska Poland
Whilst the project was included in the GROW program under the sub theme of Social Inclusion it in fact impacted upon the other sub-themes of business creation and the environment.

The objectives of the project were fourfold and can be summarised as follows: -

  • Effecting research into the social factors that limit and condition certain disadvantaged groups to achieve labour market inclusion, as well as to determine what kind of support may be necessary to resolve their problems.

  • Motivating, training and sensitizing those local agents and all other advisers to be aware of social excluded groups with the objective of encouraging them to become more involved in projects related to the target groups in their local operational area.

  • Support sustainable business creation within the target group

  • Conjoint development resulting in specific recommendations (Good Practice Manual) in order to affect social policies at a National/Regional level. To develop alternative strategies to increase social awareness and the competences of social excluded groups, to prevent the creation of stereotypes that may inhibit the target group’s access to employment.
